Bubble Tea Label Design Concept
Software: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate
Project: To design a label for a fictional beverage inspired by a memory.
Process: For my fictional beverage, I was inspired by games in the early 2000s. I remember tinkering around with my parents’ computer they were still a bit like the Wild West, and no one really knew how to use them. F5, or the key command for ‘refresh’ was especially useful back then. I thought the name “Refresh” was fitting for both the name of a beverage and my early computing memories.
To begin, I made a mood board inspired by my childhood, then sketched out different thumbnail layouts before narrowing it down to three roughs. My cat would always sit on my lap while playing games, so I drew a cat with headphones in front of a bubble background which is a nod to one of my favorite games on the NES. I drew the illustrations in Procreate before importing them into Photoshop. I went through several iterations of the label, tweaking the colors and experimenting with various Photoshop effects. Finally, I created the nutrition facts label and made sure all the appropriate information was on the can.
